A wide diversity of discovery efforts
is underway at the Vanderbilt Brain Institute. Our
scientists are making discoveries in the areas of sensory
sciences, development, nerve communication, learning
and memory, behavioral science, and clinical neuroscience
related to neurological and mental disorders. Our researchers
are utilizing leading edge techniques in state-of-the-art
facilities to delve into questions about the genetic,
molecular, and cellular mechanisms that underline brain
development, neural function, and brain disease. And
our faculty are moving discoveries from the bench to
the bedside so that advances in basic neuroscience
find practical application in the clinic and beyond.
